There are several things you need to consider when building your own shed. First off all you need to decide on the size of the shed you are wanting to have in your garden. I my case I was looking for a shed where I could withdraw and do some of my own handcraft stuff, but it also needed to be big enough to store a lot of the garden equipment and the bikes of my wife and children.
Also an important thing to consider is the design of your shed. The best way to get a feel for that is to look at some different wood shed design plans. There are many different styles of wooden sheds and I would advise you to have a good look around before you decide on which shed you are going to be building yourself.
Another thing to keep in mind is if you have all the different tools that you need. It will save you a lot of stress and time when you plan everything first. If you don’t have to appropriate tools, I would recommend buying them or borrowing them from a neighbour or friend. I have made the mistake have not having exactly the right tools. This actually damaged our shed and I had to re-do a whole part.
The great thing is if you have the right wood shed plans that the planning will become alot easier. These plans come with very detailed descriptions and it will tell you exactly what you need and when you need it. It’s very difficult to go wrong with these plans.
When I decided to build my own shed with The help of different wood shed plans, I started to do some research. I had a look a different models and plans, but I wasn’t able to find anything suitable. I did some research on The Internet for wood storage shed plans and I had a look at quite a few different plans.
It was quite difficult to find free shed plans. I though it was just a matter of surfing Th Internet for a couple of minutes, find a nice free shed plan and voila I could start building my wooden shed.
The problem however with these plans are that I could not find a plan with a shed of my liking. Most of The free plans were showing very old models. I was looking for something bigger and more modern to build.
Another problem that I came across concerning the free plans where the instructions provided on There. They were very difficult to figure out, and even for me as a fairly experienced hand worker (don’t Think my wife would agree on This one 
) I was not able to figure out how to build This shed together.
So it wasn’t as easy as I expected it to be. But I’m not a quitter so I decided to keep looking. I think after 6 hours off non stop surfing on the net looking for free plans I finally gave up.
I then actually came across some paid shed plans. Initially I though That This would be way to expensive to buy wood shed plans. However I found it that it was not as expensive as I thought it would be. I was actually able with a very small investment to get my hands on some great shed plans. These wood shed plans were very easy to follow and made the job a lot easier.
Free Wood Storage Shed plans is an alternative but to save yourself a lot of headache and trouble I would not recommend you using one of The free quickly put together shed plans. I’m very glad I actually came across these other plans. It really helped me big time understanding of actually how to build my own shed. Where also I wasn’t able to find any wooden shed of my liking, I had a bunch of some very nice new models to choose from because of This small investment I made.
I recently moved houses. In my new house we have a great garden. Before we moved there I could already picture it; a nice garden with a nice wooden shed. My wife was not to excited when she found out, I was planning on buying a shed. As you probably know, moving houses can cost a lot of money, and she didn’t see it as a necessity at this point and time.
When we moved to our previous place, where we have been living for the past six years, I though I would surprise my wife with a nice big flat screen television. Unfortunately she wasn’t reacting the way I was hoping her to. You see, my wife looks after the pennies at home, where I am more of the type that doesn’t worry about the money. So when she found out that I had spend $2.000 on a new TV, she was not very excited.
After learning from my previous mistakes I decided to inform her about my plans. We both agreed that at this point in time we couldn’t afford to buy a new wooden shed. But I could not let the thought go of having my own place in the garden where I could withdraw and do my own thing. Besides that, it’s obviously very practical to have a baby like that in your garden .
So I started thinking about alternatives. I was trying to think of cheaper alternatives, but nothing came to mind. Then a good friend of mine advised me of building my own shed, with the help of a shed plan. He showed my different wood shed plans he had purchased to build his own. I got really excited when I found out about this. So I decided to give it a go…..
I can tell you it was the most fun I have had in a long time. After having build one completely from scratch, it is the greatest thing to see the result of something that you created yourself. Not only that, because my 11 year old son helped me building it. We had some great father son quality time. We spend a couple of days together just working on our little project.
In my situation the wood shed plans were a solution to my problems in many different ways. Firstly because I was able to save a lot of money. Secondly it saved my an argument with my wife and thirdly I was able to spend some quality time with my son.
